what's new with me

Hi Reader!

I haven't done a "what's new with me" in a bit, so I thought it would be fun to share what's going on in my own health journey lately.

Exercise: I am training for a 5K next weekend at the beach (there is also promise of a lobster roll and beer afterwards, which makes a good incentive :)

Its the first one since my oldest was born 6 years ago, so it will definitely not be my fastest by far, but it has been fun running again. My son also loves running and has been "racing me" in our backyard, which has been fun to do with him when he gets home from school (plus he keeps me accountable!)

Apparently, he is the intense fitness instructor I didn't think I had?

I also dug out my jump rope to improve my stamina (seriously, if you need a quick and intense cardio, don't sleep on a jump rope. Its hard!)

Food: Ever since I made this webinar on improving GLP-1 naturally, I have been more conscious of my fiber intake and trying to eat more foods with fiber. I even started adding psyllium husk powder to my morning smoothie (which no joke, holds me over for like 4-5 hours).

Fiber naturally tells your body to produce more GLP-1! Protein too, which is why I am still practicing prioritizing protein in all my meals (I try for 30 g per meal).

Lifestyle: I started reading books on Stoicism, which I find really fascinating, as a way to control my anxiety. If you don't know a lot about it, the main premise of Stoicism is to not worry about things you can't control and we can only control our own thoughts and actions, which is actually really little in the grand scheme of things in the world.

Its a work in progress, but I find it very interesting. I do think it has made a big improvement in my overall anxiety levels. I have felt a lot calmer lately, even though nothing else has changed.

What have you been working on! I would love to hear about it!

Happy Wednesday!

Love,

Lia

PS: I finally started working on my new program: "Automate your health when you can't stay disciplined or motivated on your own" (working title). Don't worry, you will be the first to know when it launches!

The Radiance Collective is the go to place for metabolism and gut health advice, community, support, accountability, and coaching from a certified nutrition coach, who understands that sometimes we are just too busy to figure it out for ourselves.
