I really miss poptarts

Hi Reader!

In a way I wish I could just eat whatever I want, whenever I want and not worry about the repercussions. I mean like, eat all the junk food that I know I shouldn't be eating, like poptarts for breakfast (man, I really miss those, why are they soo good! The cinnamon sugar ones are my favorite), spicy chicken sandwiches for lunch, drinking root beer at dinner, then have ice cream or some dessert every night.

Think all the guilty pleasure foods, but throwing caution to the wind and eating them every day!

Haha, I was totally thinking about this the other day and fantasizing about it.

And to be honest the real reason why I don't has nothing to do with knowing I would probably gain like 20 lb in a week, is that I know I would feel

Crappy. Lazy. Irritable.

That's really why I don't succumb to all my junk food fantasies (at least most of the time).

The mental connection to health in the only motivator that actually works.

The only one. If you haven't truly worked on the mental health aspect of health, or the real WHY to fixing your health (that goes beyond the superficial appearance part), you will never get there.

Healthy habits won't actually become a habit or part of your life where you just do it without thinking about it anymore. And it will take that much longer to reach your health goals and feel better.

I don't eat poptarts every day for breakfast (even though I WOULD LOVE TO DO THAT. In fact it has been years since I have had one), is that I know it would just set myself up to have a bad day.

I know I wouldn't actually feel full. The sugar would put me on the roller-coaster alternating between irritable, hungry, and craving more sugar ALL DAY. Then I would have bad sleep and wake up repeating the process. The motivation to be productive would go away and I wouldn't be able to do my job well. Plus I probably would start to be a not-so-nice mom because I am moody and tired all day.

Instead, I make my boring protein smoothie (same one everyday), so I can have stable blood sugar, which gives me energy, calms my mood, and regulates my appetite.

Once you understand how food affects your day to day and that its the deciding factor on whether you have stable moods, sustained energy, and normal appetite, good digestion, then its so much easier to make those boring health decisions (without thinking about it).

Or once you understand how certain habits you are doing could be setting you up to fail.

Then it can be HARD to do on your own when you don't know what your food triggers are, or what foods work with you or even what habits aren't working for you.

Which is why Health coaches do the hard work for you. Sometimes its takes an outsider to look at everything and help you figure things out. Health coaches also teach you how to AUTOMATE those health habits. No more thinking. You just do it.

That sounds like FREEDOM to me! And just knowing that your day is going to be a good one.

Have a lovely Easter weekend (if you are celebrating!)

Warmly,

Lia
